Free PT/OT/Speech Therapies - Regional Centers provide Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy and other services to children who have disabilities, or are at risk of delays due to medical conditions.  Services are free to families, regardless of income or insurance.  If your child has undergone surgery, has been hospitalized or has a medical condition, you are urged to call as soon as possible for an evaluation.

Camp Del Corazon - 
A free, nonprofit ACA accredited camp specializing in children Ages 7 - 17 years old with heart disease or with a history of heart disease.  The camp is held on beautiful Catalina Island over the Labor Day weekend.  Telephone: 818-901-0323, Toll Free: 888-621-4800   E-Mail: info@campdelcorazon.org 

American Heart Association - 
The AHA website has information and statistics on congenital heart defects as well as Bacterial Endocarditis.  The AHA offers brochures such as "If your Child Has A Congenital Heart Defect" which explains the most common types of heart defects, and "Feeding Infants With Congenital Heart Disease - A Guide for Parents".  For more information on the AHA, call 1-800-AHA-USA1.

TLContact - 
Create a free website for your child while he or she is hospitalized to keep family and friends updated.  This organization was started by the parents of a child with HLHS, a serious congenital heart defect.

Make A Wish - or (800) 722-WISH (9474) 
Any child under the age of 18 with a life-threatening illness may be eligible for a wish.  Wishes granted include going on vacations, meeting professional athletes and other celebrities, getting a computer, etc.  The amazing things provided by this organization are endless.  Contact them to see if your child is eligible to receive a wish.

Starlight Children's Foundation - or 323-634-0080
Starlight grants wishes for seriously ill children between the ages of 4 and 18 years old, and provides outings for families.  This organization also provides special play areas and equipment for children at various hospitals.  Some of the services provided include:  Starlight Sites - inviting hospital environments created to provide pediatric patients with a place to relax, play and interact with others while at the hospital; Starlight Fun Centers - mobile entertainment unit containing a Sharp flat-screen monitor, DVD player and Nintendo GameCube system; and Starlight PC Pals - a mobile personal computer encased in a colorful and appealing kiosk that travels easily within a hospital facility.

This nonprofit organization brings together volunteer musicians, singers, and songwriters to create free, personalized songs for children and adults up to age 21 with chronic or life threatening illnesses.   To hear song excerpts call the songline at 718-997-7548.
